"Rather than demoralize its community, the great newspaper will by honest and intelligent journalism inspire people to do better."

News You Need: ShoreLine News Journal
Continuously published every month since 1988, SHORELINE has been an independent voice providing information and in-depth analysis on a broad range of issues that impact the Shore Community, many of which are ignored or dealt with only superficially in local media.
Open SHORELINE and you're apt to find headlines like these:
"Comprehensive Plan Nearing Completion: What happened to public input?" "Creating and Supporting a Young Adult Community," "The Importance of a Good Education," "Health Rankings for Accomack & Northampton," "Impact of Sea Level Rise", Keeping our Folks Fed, "Why Zoning Matters, Keeping Track of Local Government..."
SHORELINE has come a long way from mimeographed pages run on a copier -whoa the dinosaur printing era! What hasn't changed is it still runs on volunteer power. The newsletter is written, edited and mailed by a dedicated group of volunteers with the help of a part-time graphic designer and a part time editor. It is mailed and emailed to 1000 CBES members and subscribers, public officials, Shore agencies, high schools, and local libraries.

The first CBES "Newsletter" - Sept 1988 started it all!
It would be a few more years until it took on the
SHORELINE moniker. But even then many counted
on SHORELINE for its reliable information on topics and issues that directly affect life on the Shore.
