Are you a civic-minded individual with a desire to help make the Shore a better place? Are you a good communicator, and a good writer? If so, consider volunteering to contribute to ShoreLine.

Our publication provides information on events, issues, and initiatives of interest to CBES members and the broader general community, along with occasional editorial opinions.

4th Saturday in October – Join the excitement!

The BTW Bike Tour is CBES only fundraising event.  With 1,200 cyclists, this popular annual event works because many hands lighten the load. It includes a Saturday evening Oyster Roast, Friday Registration, Friday Fun Ride and pre/post event tasks.

No wheels needed. Just bring your smile and a desire to meet new people. Grab a friend or come solo and greet riders at the bike tour check-in or provide refreshments, maybe help serve lunch or direct bikers. And more…

Martin Luther King, Jr. Day,  3rd Monday in January – Help Build “Bridges”

CBES Community Unity Day partnership with the Northampton Branch of the NAACP is a 35-year CBES tradition. It’s a feel-good time with Shore sororities, leaders, your fellow neighbors and young folks. Gather with us at the legendary Gidden’s Do Drop Inn and help prepare 500 plus soups for delivery to low-wealth seniors across Northampton County. info@cbes.org

First Saturday in June

It’s three hours when getting trashy is a good thing! CBES joins lead partner The Nature Conservancy as part of the Chesapeake Bay Foundation’s Bay-wide effort. Laughter and comradery build as we pick up trash along the shoreline of the village of Oyster. Reminding us of the responsibility we all share to help keep the waters of our peninsula healthy.  You can pitch in at our site or we can direct you to other clean-ups around the Shore. info@cbes.org

Help facilitate a more informed electorate. CBES forums, not debates, are held Shore-wide for contested local elections in Accomack & Northampton Counties including Board of Supervisors, Constitutional Officers, and State Senator and Delegate seats. Tasks  include greeting and signing in attendees, handing out/collecting questions, and distributing forum posters in your community. info@cbes.org

As expenses continue to go up for our only fundraising event, Between the Waters Bike Tour Sponsorships are always welcome. It’s also an excellent way to showcase your business or organization, while spotlighting your commitment to community and the environment.
